Feeling Blue

I've been following the challenges at Design Dollies, a blog I discovered through my ScrapMuse co-DT Kristy. Here's one I made for their monochromatic blue challenge for this week. Having 2 daughters, I rarely use the color blue for layouts so this was really fun to do.

Life's a Beach

Sketch #40 is up at the Inspired Blueprints blog. I admit, I found the sketch quite challenging but I like how the layout turned out. Maybe because the Sassafrass papers are so bright or maybe because Ally looks so happy in the photos. Pictures were from our last beach outing in Cebu before the end of the year.

Title: Life's a Beach
Journaling: This is just perfect --- a bright and sunny day, calm ocean waters, fine white sand. A day at the beach is your kind of day. (Mactan, Cebu. 30 Dec 2009)

Here's the sketch...I hope you give it a try!

Oh my...it's Monday already tomorrow. Where did the weekend go?

More of Parisian Nights

The ScrapMuse January Newsletter is out and this means it's also reveal day for the DT's layouts for this month's kit!

My article this month is about scraplifting. For sure if you want more layouts done, the fastest way to do it is to scraplift but please, give credit where credit is due!You can read the full newsletter here.

My first layout is a lift of Missy's layout. I hope I did justice to her work. Here's my take and the original follows.

Title: My cousin, My friend
Journaling: The two of you only get to see each other 2-3 times a year but this is quality time spent together. (Julia & Gabie, 29 Dec 2009)

Here's Missy's layout:

I don't really make New Year's resolutions but this layout is about some things that I want to accomplish or happen for 2010.

Here's another layout for Julia's baby album. I just love cutting up Webster's papers!

Parisian Nights

This is the January ScrapMuse kit. It combines a lot of my favorite things when it comes to scrapbooking stuff...pink, Webster's Pages, the vintage look, and Tim Holtz rock candy clear crackle paint. So awesome!

Here's one of the layouts I created with the kit.

Title: A Hand to Hold
Journaling: I am confident you will be able to surprass life's trials because you have each other.

Watch out for our January newsletter and the rest of my & my co-DT's layouts!

Just a couple of Christmas layouts

Just sharing some Christmas layouts I finished recently. This photo was taken during the LB Scrapaholics Christmas party. Too bad Daddy arrived late for the photo op.

This is based on Inspired Blueprints sketch #39. If you are looking for some inspiration, perhaps this sketch is what you need.

Here's another layout using photos from Christmas 2008. Julia & Ally were excited to open presents even if it was just 10 pm on Christmas eve. We gave in and allowed them to open 1 gift each. For this layout, I'm happy I was able to use Chrismtas papers & embellishments that are already 2 years old. Now I can use my newer ones!

Have a great weekend!

Welcome 2010!

Happy New Year to all! The holidays are over and its back to regular programming for most of us. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas season and I wish everyone an even more meaningful 2010.

Just sharing some layouts I finished before the year ended.

This is based on the December Prima Build-A-Page. It is about Julia's favorite quotes which she got from the internet and wrote it down in her little notebook. She has more but these are some of her faves and mine too coz it shows that she loves being a girl and being a daughter.

1)"Sugar and spice and everything nice, That's what little girls are made of.... Plus Skill, Determination, Power, Passion!

2)"I am a princess. All girls are. Even if they live in tiny old attics. Even if they dress in rags. Even if they aren't pretty, or smart, or young. They’re still princesses. All of us." Author: Sara Crew, A Little Princess

3)Daughters are little girls that grow up to be your best friend."

This layout I did one afternoon coz I wanted to use my Webster's papers. LOL!
Title: Lil Big Girl
Journaling: May you have a happy childhood, stay healthy, and always feel special in your own little way. We love you!

I have yet to scrap my first layout for 2010! Gotta go!
