I'm blogging from...

It's been days since I updated this blog, that's because we have been on vacation! As of this time, we are still in Cebu visiting my in-laws but we were in the nearby island of Bohol a few days ago. Here are just a few pics from our trip:

I love the different shades of blue!

Julia and Ally couldn't resist playing with the sand right after we arrived. Julia describes it as "just like flour."

This was on our way to Balicasag Island for some snorkeling and fish feeding.

We will be back home very soon and I can't wait to get scrappin' again!

Disney Layouts

My goal for the month of April as far as scrapping is concerned is to scrap our Disney pics. We didn't go out of town for the Holy Week so I was able to scrap some pages. Here it goes...

Title: Disneyland
Did this for A Peek Into Yesterday's "Happy Place" contest.

As always, I work with sketches to keep me going. This time, I used sketches from Inspired Blueprints! These layouts are based on sketch #14, 15 & 16 respectively.

Journaling: One of the highlights of the trip was meeting and posing with the different Disney characters.
Used Cosmo Cricekt and KI memories pps.

Journaling: Unbelievable sights, Indescribable feeling...this is so very true!
Used Basic Grey Urban Prairie pps.

Lazy Summer Days

We are definitely right smack in the middle of summer and I am enjoying it. The weather has been erratic these past few days with rain and raising temperatures alternating every now and then but what I like about it is the more relaxed atmosphere. No school for Julia means less driving around for me. Being relaxed also means I get to scrap more...yipee!

Here are are few pages I finished recently...

GotSketch is celebrating its 2nd birthday and sketches/challenges are up weekly for the month. Here's my take for sketch #78:

And here's the sketch:

There's a contest running at the PageMaps Blog with a prize pack from My Mind's Eye. Here's my layout:

Journaling: This is just the beginning of big things to come. Continue to work hard and nurture your love for learning. We are behind you every step of the way. Love, Daddy and Mommy, 28 Mar 2009, Pre-school graduation.
Used Heidi Swapp, Basic Grey, and Crate Paper pps.

And here's the sketch:

Have a Blessed Holy Week to everyone.

True Beauty and One Fine Day

Sharing with you my latest layout. This is inspired by a challenge at Method Playground which required use of monochromatic colors. This was quick to do, I just looked for my reddish patterned papers, and it was done! Used Basic Grey Boxer and Offbeat pps. Maybe I'll make a yellow layout next. LOL!

Title: True Beauty

Journaling: Beauty is looking into someone's eyes and seeing their heart (author unknown). Ally at 2 1/2 years

Just a few close-ups:
I used glass beads as flower centers, adhered them using glossy accents. This was fun!

I painted the chipboard letters with black paint then dabbed red paint on top. Applied glossy acccents as a finishing touch.

I forgot to post this next layout, which is my last as part of the DT of Creative Scrappers. I really enjoyed being part of the design team and working with the awesome sketches. It is based on sketch # 44 for the month of March.

Here's the sketch:

Here's my layout using pics from our trip to HK Disneyland. I used papers mostly from the Offbeat line.

Journaling: There's nothing else on my mind right now except to have lots of fun with you.

Some close-ups:

Have a scrappy weekend!

What's Goin On?

Last week has been a really busy week for me. I was busy with work and preparing for this little girl's graduation.

Julia graduated from Pre-school and is moving up to grade school by June. We are so proud of you!

On the graduation ceremony itself, they (the graduates) were asked to give their parents a letter that they wrote. I admit this made me cry...

And to celebrate her graduation and the start of summer, we headed off to the beach!
Julia enjoyed picking tiny shells from the shore.

Ally simply loved floating in the water.

We stayed at Acuatico Beach Resort in Laiya, San Juan, Batangas. The sand is definitely not fine if you'll compare it to Boracay, but it is just barely 2 hours away. I loved the infinity pool and the Balinese inspired villas.

Inspite of the hectic sked, I still managed to join the weekend of challenges at Scrappin Kids. Here are the layouts I finished:

Issa's Challenge: use bright colors and mis-matched fonts

Wendy's Chipboard Challenge: alter chipboard in 3 different ways. I sprayed glimmer mist and then applied glossy accents on the alphas; painted and then stamped on the flourish chipboard; and covered the flower chipboard with patterned paper. Incidentally, my layout won in this challenge! Yipee!

Since school is out, Julia joined me in scrapping. We still have problems with alignment and choosing papers, but she really loves to scrap with me! Here are her layouts, and guess what? She won in the Song Title challenge! This really made her day, I'm sure she'll be scrapping a lot this summer.

Viv's Song Title Challenge:

Issa's Bright Colors Challenge:

Yvette and Issa awarded me with this! Thanks guys!

I'm passing it on to Pia, Liza, Dinah, & Mia!
